11/30: UNO will host a free ACT workshop this Sunday, Dec 3rd.  Register at UNO.edu

11/17: DUAL ENROLLMENT:  Fletcher will be offering 2 dual enrollment classes in the Spring at the new Galliano Campus.  English composition 1010 will be offered on Mondays from 2:30-6:00 and Psychology will be offered on Tuesdays from 4:30-8:00. Also, it’s not too late to sign up for the Nicholls online computer class OIS200.  Pick up applications for any of these classes in the counseling center.  Remember you are only allowed 2 free dual enrollment classes per year and you must pay for the class if you drop.

10/5: DUAL ENROLLMENT: Applications are now being accepted for the Nicholls Dual Enrollment class office information systems beginning in January to be taught here at South Lafourche.  You must have an “18” in English and a “19” in Math on any ACT to qualify for OIS200.  Visit the counseling center for an application.

Old News:

11/15: Junior Class Officers are selling Little Caesars Pizza Kits.  All proceeds will benefit Prom of 2018.  Please ask a Junior Class member if interested in purchasing a pizza kit or some cookie dough.  All orders must be turned in by November 28th.  Thanks for your support.

10/31: BLOOD DRIVE:  NHS will be hosting a blood drive on Thursday, November 16th from 7:30am-2:00pm in the new gym.  In order to donate, students must be at least 16 years old weighing 130 lbs., or 17 years old weighing at least 110 lbs.  ALL 16 YEARS OLDS MUST HAVE A SIGNED PARENT CONSENT FORM.  Students can sign up at both lunch recesses with a NHS member, or in the counseling center.  See Mrs. Julie Mayet, or Mrs. Bonnie Lefort for more information.

10/31: ACT: The deadline to register for the Dec 9th ACT is Friday, Nov 3rd.  Visit ACT student.org for more information.

10/25:JUNIOR CLASS:  Will be selling nachos & cheese for $1 @ both recesses on Thursday (10/26).

10/25: The Jr Class dinner ticket money is due on Friday, 10/27

9/25: SLHS will be administering the PSAT on October 11th.  The PSAT is the prequalifying exam used by the National Merit Scholarship Program, which is a national scholarship that only juniors can qualify for.  Registration for this test will be limited to the first 15 juniors and the 5 sophomores to sign up in the counseling center and pay the fee.  If you are considering taking this test, DO NOT DELAY.  See Mrs. Suzanne in the Counseling Center to pay the $16.00 fee and sign up today.

10/5: PROM SIGN UP:  Any Junior who signed up to work for prom should meet in room 301 on Wednesday, October 11th @ 7:10 for a short meeting.

9/27: All students are reminded to visit the College and Career Fair this Friday in the gym.  If you don’t get to visit during 4th, 5th, or 6th hours, stop by at recess.
