SENIORS:  The Lion’s Club is sponsoring an essay contest for $300 with the title “ Why is Community Service important to me?”  Turn essay in to Ms. Autin by April 29th.

 PROJECT GRADUATION:  Attn: Seniors graduation is quickly approaching. A representative will be here at both lunch shifts this Friday to register for Project Graduation.  The cost is $25.  The absolute last day to register will be May 1st.  You don’t want to miss out on a fun night celebrating with your senior class.

Any seniors interested in donating flowers for Senior Mass in the memory of a loved one, should pick up the form in the front office.

Old Announcements:

Any senior or junior interested in attending the annual BP Energy Expo Field Trip is asked to sign up in the counseling center.  If you are interested in oil and gas production, process technology, or engineering sign up to attend this field trip on March 21st.

 PROJECT GRADUATION:  Will be here on Friday, Feb 15th & Friday, Feb 22nd to register for Project Graduation Night.

SENIORS SCHOLARSHIPS:  The Local & LOOP Scholarship packets are available in the Counseling Center.  Both are due on March 15th.  No late applications will be accepted.

****VISION SCHOLARSHIP is now available in the Counseling Center.  You must be a vision customer with  at least a “21 ACT” and a 3.0 GPA to apply. (2/8/19)

Don’t forget to order your signature class shirt!! The cost is $10.  Checks should be made payable to SLHS.  Turn in your order form and payment to Mrs. Grachel Guidry in Room 301 by Jan 11, 2019.

The last day to register for Nicholls Scholarship is Jan 5th. Visit Nicholls.ed to register.  You may still attend Nicholls after this date but will not be considered for scholarship.

Future Teachers of America:  SL is starting a new club.  Interested in becoming a teacher and learning more about behind the scenes of public education?  If you are a junior or senior interested in learning more about the Future Teachers of America Club, see Mrs. Christy Autin in room 831 or Mrs. Erin Friedlander in room 927 by Friday, December 14th.

ASVAB:  SLHS will be administering the ASVAB on Thursday, Nov 8th.  The ASVAB is an aptitude and interest inventory given by the Army. You do not have to enlist to take the ASVAB.  Sign up in the counseling center.

ACT: Deadline for the December 8th ACT is Friday, Nov 2nd.  Please visit ACT.org to register.

NHS BLOOD DRIVE: Wednesday, November 14th from 7:30 am - 2:00 pm in the new gym. (16yrs-130lbs  17-110lbs)  16 year old must have parent consent.  Sign up at both lunches with a NHS member or in the counseling center.  See Mrs. Julie Mayet or Mrs. Bonnie Lefort for more information.

LSU SCHOLARSHIP: Deadline is Thursday, Nov 15th. Visit LSU.edu to register.

FAFSA:  SLHS will host a FAFSA workshop on Thursday, Nov 15th from 5-7 in the school library.  Nicholls, LOSFA, and Career Compass will be on campus to individually assist seniors and their parents with FAFSA completion.  Parents are encouraged to bring a copy of their 2016 tax return.  The FAFSA is required for graduation.

9/14: Mike’s Framing will be here the week of (9/17-9/21) for Senior Yearbook pictures.  Sign up in the front office for a specific time and day. No sitting fee at school; $20 sitting fee at Mikes. Prices packages in front office.  All pictures for yearbook must be taken through Mikes.

8/22: Class shirts are on sale for $10 and sweatshirt $15.  Turn in forms to Ms. Grachel Guidry in room 301 by Sept 7th.

8/14: Any Jr or Sr wanting to take Fletcher Psychology 2010 on Monday Nights this semester, can sign up in the Counseling Center.  You must have at least an 18 English & Reading on your ACT.  Application are due on August 17th.

8/14: Close Up Meeting Thursday Morning, August 16th @ 6:50 in Ms Belisle Rm 803.
