3/7: YEARBOOK ADS: Yearbook ads are now on sale. Ads are due on Friday, April 20, 2018. If you are interested in purchasing a yearbook ad, please pick up an order form outside of Room 301.
3/7: PROJECT GRADUATION: Any Senior interested in Project Graduation can still pick up a form in the front office. All forms must be returned to the library or Room 401.

3/7: NICHOLLS OIS 200 students: The textbooks are now in the guidance office. Remember textbooks are to be returned at the end of the semester.
3/7: BLOOD DRIVE: NHS will be hosting a blood drive on Thursday, March 29th from 7:30 am – 2:00 pm in the new gym. In order to donate, students must be at least 16 years old weighing 130 lbs, or 17 years old weighing at least 110 lbs. ALL 16 year olds must have assigned parent consent form. Students can sign up at both lunch recesses with a NHS member, or in the counseling center. See Mrs. Julie Mayet, or Mrs. Bonnie Lefort for more information.
3/7: Any Sr wishing to participate in a part of the Senior Mass please sign up in the front office. You do not have to sign up to attend, only to participate in a particular part of it. Also, forms for monetary donations for flower memorials for senior mass can be picked up in the front office. (3/29)
3/7: Don’t forget to turn in your March Card by Friday, March 16th to the Library. Special seating forms are also due by Friday, March 16th.
3/7: New scholarships are available in the counseling center including the Sheriff’s Office, Bayou Industrial Group, and the Gentleman’s Scholarship
3/7: ACT: This Friday, March 9th is the deadline to register for April 14th ACT. April is the last ACT to count for TOPS.
2/7: The Vision Communication scholarship is now available in the Counseling Center or online at viscom.net. You must be a Vision customer, have at least a 21 on ACT and a 3.0 GPA to quality. The deadline is March 15th.
2/7: The Local Scholarship packet and LOOP scholarship application are now available in the Counseling Center. Both scholarships are due on March 23rd.
2/7: CLEP EXAM: Any student interested in taking a CLEP exam must pick up a registration form in the Counseling Center. The cost of CLEP exam is $85.00. Students who are in Algebra II Honors, US History Honors, or English III Honors do not have to complete a form but must bring their payment to the counseling center, if applicable. The deadline to return the completed form, with payment, is March 2, 2018. (3/2/18)
2/7: The ACT will be administered this coming Saturday here at SLHS. This is just a reminder to all students registered to take the examination that you must bring your admission ticket with your photo printed on it, and an approved photo id to be admitted into the testing rooms. Also, students should bring their own calculators. Students should arrive by 7:30 to begin the check-in procedures.
2/7: SENIOR SHIRTS: Order forms are available in the front office. Deadline to order is March 1st.
2/7: BP FIELD TRIP: BP and Fletcher will once again host the annual career expo for students interested in the oil and gas industry. Juniors and seniors interested in the BP Field Trip on March 1st can sign up in the counseling center.

11/16: DUAL ENROLLMENT: Fletcher will be offering 2 dual enrollment classes in the Spring at the new Galliano Campus. English composition 1010 will be offered on Mondays from 2:30-6:00 and Psychology will be offered on Tuesdays from 4:30-8:00. Also, it’s not too late to sign up for the Nicholls online computer class OIS200. Pick up applications for any of these classes in the counseling center. Remember you are only allowed 2 free dual enrollment classes per year and you must pay for the class if you drop.
11/7: Seniors interested in Grad Bash must pay to reserve your seat. One bus is filled and we are working towards filling a second bus. You can pick up information packets in Guidance.
10/5: DUAL ENROLLMENT: ATTN: Juniors and Seniors: Applications are now being accepted for the Nicholls Dual Enrollment class office information systems beginning in January to be taught here at South Lafourche. You must have an “18” in English and a “19” in Math on any ACT to qualify for OIS200. Visit the counseling center for an application.
12/5: Sr in OIS200 will be receiving permission slips for a field trip to Nicholls on January 9th. Please return them to Joy Pierce before the break. There are 15 extra seats available on a first come first serve basis. Also, it is not too late to sign up for OIS200.
11/30: NICHOLLS STATE: The scholarship deadline for Nicholls State is fast approaching. You may still register for Nicholls after the deadline, but January 5, 2018 is the last day to qualify for scholarships. Register at nicholls.edu
11/30: ACT: UNO will host a free ACT workshop this Sunday, Dec 3rd. Register at UNO.edu
10/31: The deadline to register for LSU to qualify for scholarships is Nov 15th . You may still apply to LSU after Nov 15th but you will no longer be considered for scholarships.

10/25: College Goal Sunday is a statewide FAFSA assistance workshop for seniors and parents. The nearest site is at Fletcher on Sunday, Nov 5th @ 2:00. Register at osfa.la.gov/register or check with the counseling center for more information. All seniors must fill out the FAFSA to graduate.
10/17: Class song, flower or motto due to Mrs. Autin in room 831 by Oct 20th. Lyrics must be turned in with song.
9/29: GRAD BASH: Any Senior interested in participating in Grad Bash must sign up and pick up a packet in the guidance office. Limited seating is available; do not delay!
9/18: Nicholls State University will be hosting a Colonel Day on Saturday, Oct 7th @ 10:00. Visit Nicholls.edu to register.
9/27: All students are reminded to visit the College and Career Fair this Friday in the gym. If you don’t get to visit during 4th, 5th, or 6th hours, stop by at recess.
9/1: Please remind your parents that the Senior Counselor Parent Meeting will be Thursday, Sept 14th @ 6:00 in the school library. They will learn about College registration, state mandated FAGSA completion, TOPS, and scholarships.
